Pete Carmichael Jr., the longest-tenured OC in the league, will not keep his job with the New Orleans Saints for the upcoming season, manager Dennis Allen shared with the media today.
A major offensive shakeup: The #Saints are moving on from OC Pete Carmichael, per me and @TomPelissero, changing their offense for the first time since 2009.

Senior offensive assistant Bob Bicknell and WRs manager Kodi Burns were also dismissed.
“To decide such things is never easy, but we must do it as we move forward,” Allen admitted. “I would especially like to thank Pete for his contributions to the group in the past 18 years. I admire everything that he did professionally and as a colleague.”
The franchise ended in the top 10 in scoring offense or total offense in 14 out of Carmichael’s 18 campaigns.
Pete was part of Sean Payton’s original coaching team when he joined the Saints as QBs manager in 2006. Carmichael was promoted to offensive coordinator in 2009 and kept this position in the organization until today.
