Seattle is sending a 2024 2nd-round selection and a 2025 5th-round pick to New York.
The franchise from the Big Apple is taking on most of the 10 million dollars owed to Leonard.
The National Football League trade deadline is Tuesday afternoon.
The exchange comes a day after New York lost in OT to the NY Knicks, falling to 2-6, last place in the NFC East. Seattle, who beat the Cleveland Browns to improve to 5-2, are in the top position in the NFC West.
Seattle has been getting strong play from DLs Dre’Mont Jones and Jarran Reed this campaign, but the depth behind those 2 is very lacking. The only backup is the veteran Mario Edwards. The organization lost LB Uchenna Nwosu to a campaign-ending injury in Week 7.
