Noah Lyles clocked in at 9.83 seconds in the 100m final at the U.S. Olympic trials in Eugene, Oregon, to secure his place at the Paris Olympics.
The world champion surged ahead at the midway point, overtaking his competitors to cross the finish line first.

Kenny Bednarek followed closely with a time of 9.87 seconds, and Tokyo silver medallist Fred Kerley came in third at 9.88 seconds.
Christian Coleman, the 2019 world champion, initially led the race but couldn’t maintain his pace, finishing fourth with a time of 9.93 seconds. This victory marks a significant achievement for Lyles, who aims to claim four gold medals at the Paris Games, encompassing two individual events and two relays.
Lyles’s triumph in Eugene is particularly notable given his past struggles in the event. Three years ago, he finished near the bottom in the 100m final at the trials but redeemed himself by winning the 200m. At the Tokyo Olympics, he earned a bronze medal in the 200m but did not fare as well in the 100m.
