It was a fantastic accomplishment, given that most pilots congratulated the British driver either on his triumphant lap back to the pits or once Norris had climbed out of his bolid.
After the win, Lando shared: “About time it happened. What a race! I had waited so long and in the end, I managed to achieve it – so at the moment I’m delighted for my whole team; I’ve finally thanked them with a victory. It was a long day and a tough race, but I finally won, so I’m the happiest driver at the moment.
Norris added that the days prior to the race at the Miami Grand Prix were good despite the little setbacks that they faced in the meantime. Lando claimed that he knew 2 days ago that he can be competitive and he deliver today for McLaren and for his family.
