Lando Norris delivered a fairytale win on home soil at a rain-soaked and chaotic British Grand Prix. The McLaren driver took his first-ever home victory and became a back-to-back Grand Prix winner after winning in Austria just a week earlier.
The race was full of drama, including a 10-second penalty for Norris’ teammate Oscar Piastri, who braked sharply behind the safety car in treacherous conditions. That made Max Verstappen overtake him under the safety car, although the Dutchman would later fall down the order after a spin cost him eight places.

Despite a late call from Piastri for team orders to be reversed following his penalty, McLaren chose not to intervene, allowing Norris to stay ahead and now the Brit is just eight points behind Verstappen in the championship standings.
One of the biggest stories of the race came from Nico Hülkenberg, who charged from 19th on the grid to finish third, earning the first podium of his F1 career on his 238th start. The result was also Sauber’s first podium finish since 2012.
