Ola Aina scored the 1st goal in the match after only 5 minutes had passed after Harry Toffolo’s assist gave the home side the lead.
At the beginning of the 2nd half, Orel Mangala netted in the 47th minute to give Nottingham 2 goals lead after another Harry Toffolo assist. Aston Villa finished the match with 74% ball possession and 1.25 expected goals, but despite that, Unai Emery’s side failed to score even a single goal.
Nottingham is in 12th place in the Premier League with 13 points after 11 matches, while Aston Villa is in 5th place with 22 points after 11 games as Newcastle are only 2 points behind them.
