The world No. 1 Novak Djokovic, who was due to face Casper Ruud in tomorrow’s quarter-finals, has to withdraw from the French Open due to torn medial meniscus in his right knee (detected following an MRI scan today).
The Serbian suffered the injury after a slip early in the second set of his game against Francisco Cerundolo in the Round of 16 on Monday. Djokovic needed multiple interventions from the physio and painkillers to eventually turn the game around and win against the Argentine.

Today he cancelled his practice and MRI showed the seriousness of the problem. This puts under a question his appearance not only at Wimbledon, but also the Olympic tournament, also in Paris, and the US Open later this year.
