An MRI showed today that NY Jets QB Aaron Rodgers tore his Achilles yesterday during the season’s opener of his team on Monday Night Football, so he will not play again this campaign.
The 4-time MVP suffered the injury on his 4th regular campaign snap with his new organization. He went to the field with almost 11 minutes remaining in the 1st quarter after he tried to avoid a sack by DE Leonard Floyd and twisted to the ground, with his left foot struck in the turf.

The Jets quarterback sustained the same lower leg injury – a strained calf – during the offseason program during the spring. Rodgers didn’t miss any training during the camp because of the problem.
The NFL franchise from the Big Apple will likely look to ink a QB as Tim Boyle, who is on the training roster, is their only other QB under a deal.
