AC Milan has appointed Paulo Fonseca as their new manager. The 51-year-old Portuguese coach, who previously managed French club Lille from 2022 to 2024, has signed a three-year deal that will keep him at the club until 2027.
Fonseca replaces Stefano Pioli, who departed AC Milan by mutual consent after the team finished fourth in Serie A. Despite guiding Lille to a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1, Fonseca left the French club after they missed out on a direct Champions League spot. Lille also reached the quarter-finals of the Europa Conference League, where they were eliminated by Aston Villa on penalties.
