Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Evan Bouchard each tallied three points to power the Edmonton Oilers to a commanding 5-1 victory over the Vancouver Canucks, forcing a decisive Game 7 in their Western Conference semifinal series.
The Oilers received goals from Dylan Holloway, Zach Hyman, and Evander Kane, while Connor McDavid orchestrated the offense with three assists. Goalie Stuart Skinner, back in the net after missing the last two games, needed to make only 14 saves to secure the win.
Leon Draisaitl added two assists, extending his point-scoring streak to 11 games, covering all of Edmonton’s playoff contests. Draisaitl also reached a milestone, becoming only the third player in NHL history to notch 100 career playoff points in 60 or fewer games, joining legends Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux.
Game 7 will be held Monday in Vancouver, with the victor advancing to the conference final to face the Dallas Stars.
