Redblacks have spoken with the player about his potential return.

The Ottawa Redblacks contacted McLeod Bethel-Thompson about a potential return to the Canadian Football League.

According to a CFL source, Redblacks (1-3) have reached out to the veteran QB. A few days ago, Jeremiah Masoli left injured in the 2nd quarter of Ottawa’s 21-13 defeat away from home vs. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (1-3).

Redblacks shared that Jeremiah’s injury will make him unavailable until the end of the season.

Masoli was participating a season to the day after having a campaign-ending right leg injury during a match against the Saskatchewan Roughriders. During that 17-match span, Ottawa was 5-12.

Rookie Dustin Crum played after McLeod left injured and completed 14-of-21 passes for 149 yards and 2 interceptions. The rookie also ran a club-high 91 yards and a touchdown on 6 carries.

Dustin was very close to helping the Redblacks to force extra time. The rookie had a 19-yard run on the match-final play but was a yard short of the endzone after being tackled.
