Indiana Pacers head coach Rick Carlisle has signed a new multi-year contract, EPSN reported.
The 63-year-old Carlisle, who is nearing 900 wins as an NBA head coach, returned to Indiana in 2021 at a time when the roster is being rejuvenated and is doing a great job so far.
Carlisle was an assistant coach with the Walkers from 1997 to 2000 and then head coach from 2003 to 2007. In 2008, he joined the Dallas Mavericks, where he achieved his greatest success, winning the title in the 2010/11 season. A year later, he was also elected “Coach of the Year”.
“It goes without saying that coach Carlisle is one of the most creative and successful coaches in the history of the league, so there was never a question that he continues to be the right person to lead our team,” said Kevin Pritchard, Pacers president of basketball operations.
