The Green Bay QB will have a thumb procedure.

Jordan Love will have a procedure to repair a ligament injury to his left thumb, but the Green Bay Packers are confident that the QB will be available for the beginning of the new campaign in the NFL.

The quarterback, who had his left thumb taped during yesterday’s training, tried to compete through the problem before deciding that it was better to have a procedure.

The Green Bay GM, Brian Gutekunst, shared with the media today that the quarterback could return to training in several days, as he revealed that the procedure was the best option for Love to feel at 100% and be ready as soon as possible.

The Packers’ general manager added that Jordan sustained the problem during the weekend’s opener vs. the Jets. The problem occurred on the QB’s last play, when New York DT Jay Tufele sacked Love.

Jordan appeared in 2 series during the match. Love did not appear to be limited in training at the beginning of the week, but played primarily with his right hand in plays that were more suitable for him to use his left.
