The England midfielder is speculated to leave Manchester City during the current transfer window, as Kalvin did not start a match in the EPL this campaign.
The Eagles boss shared that his club may not be able to afford a permanent transfer, but a short-term loan could benefit both clubs and the player who wants to play and be considered part of his national team for the Euro 2024.
“Phillips is a fantastic player,” admits Hodgson.
“I believe that if Kalvin Phillips is available and a possibility for the team – once again, there will be financial limits, who knows whether Palace thinks they will be able to afford that – but if we are discussing the level of Kalvin, I don’t feel there will be many head coaches who would not say ‘fantastic, we will be really happy for him to be part of our squad.
