The Florida Panthers defeated Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 for a 4-1 win overall on Friday night and is through to the Eastern Conference finals.


Aaron Eakblad and Carter Verhaege both scored to give Florida a solid 2-0 lead.

Morgan Rielly’s and William Nylander’s strikes drew the score level, before overtime goal from Nick Cousins, scored at 15:32 sealed the deal for the Panthers.

Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky stopped 50 shots, while rookie goaltender for Maple Leafs Joseph Woll made an impressive 41 saves.

The Panthers achieve their first conference finals since 1996 and will face Carolina Hurricanes there.

They defeated Toronto in all three of their away games to improve to 6-1 in their visits in the playoffs after also upsetting the record-setting Boston Bruins in the first round.
