Pastrnak notches in OT to lift Bruins to Game 7 triumph vs. Leafs

David was the big hero for Boston in the deciding Game 7.

David Pastrnak notched n a feed from Hampus Lindholm 1:54 into OT and the Boston Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 2-1 in Game 7 at TD Garden in Boston, MA to clinch their 1st-round matchup and advance in the National Hockey League postseason.

Jeremy Swayman stopped 30 shots, and Lindholm had the evening goal in the regular time to help Boston avoid losing their 2nd consecutive 1st-round matchup after having a 3-1 lead. The Bruins have now beaten the rival Toronto in Game 7 of the 1st round of the postseason 3 times in the past 7 seasons.

Bruins will face the Florida Panthers, who upset Boston in 7 matches in the 1st-round in the past campaign and spoiled a season in which Bruins posted records for the most victories and points in a campaign in the league history. Game 1 is set for the beginning of the week in Florida. The Panthers did not play since Tuesday, when they eliminated Lightning in 5 matches.

William Nylander notched, and Auston Matthews had an assist in his return from a 2-match absence for Toronto, who are now 0-6 in Game 7s since the 2013 conference ¼ finals.
