The deal has a base value of 58 million dollars and can be worth an additional 8 million dollars as 32 million are guaranteed.
Kyle’s new contract has an average annual value of almost 15 million dollars.
Dugger had received the transition tag from the franchise in March, restricting his free agency. If he had competed in the upcoming season on a tag, Kyle would have been paid almost 14 million dollars.
Only 5 National Football League footballers had received the transition tag in the last 10 seasons, but he is the 1st safety in that list.
The contract comes as New England are set to start their voluntary offseason program in the upcoming days, as manager Jerod Mayo want to build a culture to be selected and developed by the organization.
In 2022, Dugger had become the 1st Pats defender since 1970 to score 3 TDs in a campaign.
