New England Patriots QB1 Drake Maye didn’t train today due to illness, boss Mike Vrabel revealed.
Drake’s absence – 9 days before New England will play against the Seahawks in Super Bowl LX – happens at the same time he is managing a right shoulder problem he suffered during the AFC Championship Game last weekend.
“We have had a lot of footballers during the past month and a half, with illness. So, again, we are doing the best for the player and for our organization. I will always take care of the health of our players and try to avoid the illness from spreading,” the Pats head coach shared with the media.
Yesterday, New England’s quarterback was a limited participant in training due to his shoulder. While the media was watching the Patriots’ practice, Drake and the other QBs of the team did not throw.
The Pats manager also claimed that Maye’s shoulder responded “favorably.”
Drake has not missed training in the entire campaign before today. Drake was present at the facility earlier Friday and was part of meetings.
New England footballers are scheduled to have a free day tomorrow before they travel to California at the end of the weekend.
Mike Vrabel says Drake Maye did not attend practice due to an illness and shoulder injury(answer below).
