Paul George claimed he never wanted to leave the Clippers, but that talks on an extension with the team began with a shockingly “disrespectful” 1st offer.
Paul inked a 4-year, 212 million dollar max free agent contract with Philly. However, the All-Star player revealed on his podcast that he was willing to sign with Los Angeles for a 3-year, 150 million dollar extension they gave Kawhi Leonard but with a no-trade clause in it. The guard added that the franchise wouldn’t do that or give him a 4-year, 212 million dollar deal if they didn’t attach a no-trade clause.
“I never wanted to leave Clippers,” Paul shared about his preference. “Los Angeles is home; this is where I wanted to be until the end of my career, and I wanted to try as hard as possible to win a championship with the team.”
Paul added that they 1st offered him a 2-year, 60 million dollar deal, and he said that he would not ink that.
Paul George confirmed on @PodcastPShow the Warriors were his preferred destination, but a sign-and-trade agreement fell through:
“It would’ve been dope, man. I was looking forward to it, if it happened.”
