The veteran forward admitted after the Dallas Stars campaign came to an end that he did not think that he would be in the league next season.
“I don’t want to be guaranteed at 100%, but, you know, the plan is not to play hockey anymore. There’ll be more to come on that,” Pavelski shared in the past month. “Everything’s still raw, like nothing official. There will be more discussions, and I’m going to need a little bit of time to really decide what to do in the future”
The 39-year-old forward played in all 82 matches for Dallas in the past campaign, notching 27 goals and earning 67 points. Pavelski had 1 goal and 4 points in 19 postseason matches before the Stars were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in the West Conference final.
Joe is coming off a 1-year, 5.5 million dollar contract he inked with Dallas last summer.
