DC United midfielder Pedro Santos has undergone a surgery to remove an osteochondral fragment in his left knee, an injury he sustained during his team 3-2 loss to New York City FC on Matchday 4 after coming on as a substitute. In the 78th minite he was taken off the pitch for a treatmant to his left knee.
Santos joined DC United in the offseason as a free agent from Columbus Crew and has played three out of the team’s four games. He has registered one assist to his name this term.
The Portuguese playmaker has seen a return to his original more attacking role ever since he joined his new club, as he was reduced to a full-back in his Columbus days.
DC United return to action against New England Revolution on Saturday in their quest for only a second win this season.
