The Brazilian retains the belt after phenomenal kick.

Alex Pereira (11-2 MMA, 8-1 UFC) had a vicious 2nd-round knockout of Jirí Prochazka (30-5-1 MMA, 4-2 UFC) with a devastating head kick that continued with strikes to defend his light heavyweight belt in the main event of UFC 303 in Las Vegas.

The rematch between the 2, who fought in November with Alex winning again with a 2nd-round TKO, happened a lot earlier as the fighters were called to face each other again on 2 weeks’ notice after Conor McGregor pulled from the main event with Michael Chandler because of toe problem.

Pereira and Prochazka were part of the UFC 300 as Jiri defeated  Aleksandar Rakic and Alex won against Jamahal Hill in defense of his belt.

“I didn’t know how that I would knockout my opponent and triumph, but I knew I was going to leave T-Mobile Arena in great spirit,” the Brazilian fighter shared after his victory.

Pereira added that he can chase in the future unprecedented championship in a 3rd weight class at heavyweight.
