Cox follows in the footsteps of longtime Philadelphia center Jason Kelce, who shared with the media that he was retiring a few days ago.
“I fulfilled a lifelong dream by being part of the National Football League. But what I didn’t know in the past was how much of an honor and privilege it would be to represent Philly and this team for the next 12 years,” Fletcher shared on social media today.
He added that he is thankful to Philadelphia owner Jeffrey Lurie, GM Howie Roseman, current manager Nick Sirianni and ex-boss Doug Pederson and organization president Don Smolenski, a few teammates, including Brandon Graham, Kelce and Lane Johnson, and Eagles’ supporters.
