The Italians were introduced to the sport back in 2011 as main tire supplier and have, overall, experienced a successful stint despite some criticism over the years.
The company has managed to fulfill F1 demands such as delivering a high degradation 13-inch tire for 2011, wider tires for 2017 and the new 18-inch tire from 2022 onwards.
“Throughout this time Pirelli has always engaged positively with drivers, teams, the FIA and Formula 1 to deliver tires to enable excellent racing, analyzing data and gathering feedback to continuously improve the product year on year.” the F1 governing body said in a statement.
“Since returning to the sport in 2011 Pirelli has been an invaluable partner, supporting Formula 1 through new generations of technology and technical regulations and delivering tires to enable fantastic racing for our fans,” added President and CEO of Formula 1 Stefano Domenicali.
