The Pittsburgh Penguins shared today that Jake Guentzel has undergone ankle surgery and will be reevaluated in 4 months.
Jake Guentzel underwent successful right ankle surgery.
The surgery was performed on August 2 by Dr. Chris Coetzee at Twin Cities Orthopedics.
Guentzel will be re-evaluated in 12 weeks.

Jake will begin his 8th campaign in the NHL when he heal from the surgery. He played 78 matches in the past season, scoring 36 goals and giving 37 assists, and was an All-Star for the 2nd time in his career.
Guentzel played 453 matches for the Penguins, notching 197 goals and giving 217 assists.
He was drafted 77th overall at the 2013 NHL Draft by Pittsburgh and triumphed with the Stanley Cup in 2017.
The forward will begin the final year of a 5-year, 30-million-dollar contract and become an unrestricted free agent at the beginning of July next year if he doesn’t extend his contract with the Pens before that.
