The question marks over his future in Chelsea continue to circulate in the media

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino has called for an end to “stupid rumours” surrounding his future at the club but admits uncertainty about whether he and his staff will remain next season.

Pochettino, 52, signed a two-year contract with the option of a further year upon his appointment last May. However, Chelsea has experienced an inconsistent season, grappling with numerous injuries to key players and the challenges of managing a youthful squad.

Despite significant investment in new players under the Clearlake ownership group, Chelsea’s performance has been erratic. Nonetheless, the club still has a chance to secure European football at Stamford Bridge next season.

Pochettino emphasized, “I wanted to say that it is enough with this type of rumours, that if I have one year more [under] contract here and no-one says nothing [to me], [I] suppose I’m going to be here.”

He continued, “Only if then, the season finishes and someone says to me ‘ciao’… Because we don’t know at the moment. I suppose that I have one more year contract and that I am going to be here. Enough about the stupid rumours.”

Pochettino’s remarks reflect a desire for clarity amid ongoing speculation. He urged, “You need to ask the club if they want me to keep going or not, not to write things that have no sense.”
