Morant will remain away from the Grizzlies for at least their next four games

Police in Glendale, Colorado, closed an investigation into Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant after failing to find “enough available evidence to charge anyone with a crime” following an incident involving the point guard last week, the department announced Wednesday.

An investigation has been launched after the Grizzlies point guard livestreamed himself holding what looked to be a gun at a nightclub, which was identified in the department’s release as an establishment in Glendale.

The inquiry, however, determined that no complaints were made from the club in question surrounding a gun and that a firearm was never found.

“GPD was not able to determine that probable cause existed for the filing of any charges,” the department said.

Morant will remain away from the Grizzlies for at least their next four games, the team announced later Wednesday.

He is not with the squad during what head coach Taylor Jenkins deemed a “healing process.”

The Grizzlies face the Golden State Warriors on Thursday, followed by two consecutive matchups against the Dallas Mavericks and a road encounter with the Miami Heat.

Morant is also facing an NBA investigation. The league could still hand the 23-year-old its own punishment, including a lengthy suspension, despite no charges being filed by police.
