The Hawks hold a 1-0 series lead this season

The Phoenix Suns (30-26) take on the Atlanta Hawks (27-28) at State Farm Arena on Thursday night, only a day after reportedly signed Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant.

Phoenix have experienced a significant resurgence of late, winning nine of their last 11 games, including three straight as their most recent victrory came Tuesday night, when they beat the Nets 116-112.

Deandre Ayton finished with a 35-point, 15-rebound double-double that included a steal.

Mikal Bridges had 21 points, eight boards, two assists and one steal and Devin Booker supplied 19 points, six assists and four rebounds.

The Suns will be without Booker (groin injury management), Cameron Payne (foot) and Landry Shamet (foot) for Thursday’s game.

Atlanta have been on quite the rollercoaster lately, as they’ve followed up a five-game winning streak with six losses in the subsequent nine games.

Their most recent stumble came Tuesday night when they were defeated 116-107 by the New Orleans Pelicans with Bogdan Bogdanovic leading them with 22 points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal.

Dejounte Murray generated 19 points, seven assists, five rebounds and one steal. Trae Young supplied a 16-point, 16-assist double-double that included three rebounds and one steal and Clint Capela furnished with 13 points and eight boards.

The Hawks will come into Thursday’s game without any injuries to report.

Thursday’s game marks the second and final match between the teams this season. The Hawks hold a 1-0 series lead.
