But the Sixers’ most recent time on the floor resulted in a defeat, as they were beaten 108-97 by the New York Knicks Sunday evening with their Cameroon ace Joel Embiid finishing with 31 points, 14 rebounds, three assists and one block.
The 76ers, however, will list Embiid (foot) as questionable for Wednesday’s clash.
Tobias Harris and De’Anthony Melton scored 14 points and James Harden produced a 12-point, 12-assist double-double that included eight rebounds, two steals and one block.
The Celtics continue to stave off both the Milwaukee Bucks and the 76ers for the top spot in the Eastern Conference for the time being, and they’ll check into Wednesday’s game with three wins in the last four games following a three-game losing streak.
Boston’s most recent success came Monday night in the form of a 111-99 victory over the Detroit Pistons.
Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 34 points, complementing them with 11 rebounds, six assists and one block. Derrick White registered 23 points, seven boards and seven assists. Malcolm Brogdon totaled 16 points, four assists, one rebound and two blocks.
The Celtics will list Jaylen Brown (illness), Williams (ankle) and Luke Kornet (ankle) as probable for Wednesday’s contest, which marks the second of four meetings between the teams this season.
The Celtics hold a 1-0 series lead.
