The Champions League winners showed no mercy against clueless Real Madrid and will have a battle for fourth trophy this year

Paris Saint-Germain amazed everyone with a sensational performance to thrash Real Madrid 4-0 in the semi-finals of the Club World Cup, securing a place in the final where they will meet Chelsea.

The tone was set early in the match as PSG tore into their opponents from the opening whistle. Within the first four minutes, the Parisians had already tested Thibaut Courtois twice — first through Fabian Ruiz, whose shot to the bottom corner was denied, and then Ousmane Dembele, who was also thwarted from close range by the Belgian goalkeeper.

But Courtois could do little to prevent the opener in the sixth minute, when a calamitous mistake by Raul Asensio gifted possession to Dembele. The winger showed composure as he rounded Courtois and squared the ball to Fabian Ruiz, who slotted into an empty net to make it 1-0.

Only three minutes later, another costly error — this time from Antonio Rudiger — left Dembele one-on-one with Courtois. The Frenchman calmly buried his shot into the bottom corner, doubling PSG’s advantage and capitalizing on Real’s defensive disarray.

PSG’s dominance was relentless. In the 24th minute, Achraf Hakimi led a blistering counterattack down the right before delivering a precise low cross to Ruiz, who tapped in his second of the game to make it 3-0.

Even as the second half progressed, Xabi Alonso’s side offered little resistance, with their only significant chance falling to Eder Militao, whose speculative long-range effort in the 87th minute sailed wide.

Just one minute later, PSG added a fourth. Bradley Barcola danced through the defense with a series of dribbles before laying the ball off to Goncalo Ramos, who hammered it into the net. The Portuguese striker pointed to the sky in tribute to his late national teammate Diogo Jota, adding an emotional layer to the emphatic scoreline.
