Norwegian star suffered with 30 unforced errors
Casper Ruud suffered a shocking defeat in the second round of the ATP 500 tournament in Acapulco, Mexico.
The 2022 US Open and French Open runner-up lost in three sets to Japanese qualifier Taro Daniel 5:7, 6:2, 6:7(5) in nearly three-hour clash.
The 30-year-old Japanese, ranked 125th in the world, won the last three points of the decisive tiebreak after Ruud took a 5-4 lead. Norway’s Ruud hit more winners (38:32) but committed 30 unforced errors compared to Daniel’s 12.
