Los Blancos didn't break a sweat as they keep their slim La Liga chances alive

Real Madrid defeated Celta Vigo 2-0 to close the gap at the top of La Liga to 8 points on Saturday night, before Barcelona play their next game against Atletico Madrid on Sunday.


Marco Asensio put the host in front minutes before half-time with a little bit of fortune as a deflected shot found the young Spaniard after a brilliant work from Vinicius Jr. in the build-up.

Eder Militao doubled Los Blancos lead a couple of minutes into the second half with a fine header from a corner.

Real will be hoping for a favour from their neighbours Atletico to take points from the rivals Barcelona as this is their only shot at what looks at this moment an impossible title.

They face Girona in the next round and will be aiming for a victory, which will increase the pressure on the Catalans.
