David is a free agent after his contract with Manchester United expired this summer, and the Red Devils refused to offer him a new one.
The Spanish giants are also keen to ink Kepa Arrizabalaga if that’s possible. The Chelsea goalkeeper is Bayern Munich’s top target as the German champion is negotiating with the Blues for him.
The Spaniard spent 12 years at Old Trafford and played 545 matches for the Red Devils – the most by any goalkeeper in Manchester United’s history.
David also broke Peter Schmeichel’s Manchester record for clean sheets in the past campaign and left the Premier League with 190 clean sheets to his name in all tournaments.
De Gea won 5 major trophies with the Red Devils, including the Premier League in 2013 and the Europa League in 2017.
