Real Madrid had initially attempted to secure Davies’ transfer this summer, offering €35 million for the defender. However, Bayern Munich demanded €50 million, which caused the deal to fall through. As a result, Real Madrid opted to wait and agree with Davies for a free transfer upon the expiration of his contract next summer.
Real Madrid acted similarly with PSG and Kylian Mbappe, when the Spanish club offered €100 million for the forward in the summer of 2023, but the French side refused and now France’s captain signed for his favorite team as a child for free.
Alphonso Davies has been a key player for Bayern Munich since joining the club in 2019. In the 2023/24 season, he made 42 appearances, scored 3 goals (one of them against Real Madrid in the Champions League), and provided 6 assists for the team.
