The Brazilian had to take the penalty against Osasuna, but left it to Joselu

In the match against Osasuna in the 9th round of the Spanish La Liga, Real Madrid’s forward Rodrygo had a chance to score his second goal of the season, as his team was awarded a penalty at the end of the match with the score 4:0 in their favor.

Cameras at the Santiago Bernabeu caught footage of coach Carlo Ancelotti shouting onto the pitch in Antonio Rudiger’s direction: “Rodri. Antonio, to Rodrygo. Rodrygo!”.

It was a clear signal for the Brazilian to take the kick, but he didn’t get behind the ball and instead Joselu took the responsibility, but his shot was saved by Osasuna goalkeeper Sergio Herrera.

Later, Rodrygo posted an apologetic post on Twitter, saying: “Things don’t always go as I expect, but I will not regret the dedication and hard work to help this team! Real Madrid, thank you for your unwavering support!”.
