Ricciardo crashed almost 20 minutes into the 2nd practice at the Dutch Grand Prix. The Australian collided with the wall just after McLaren racer Oscar Piastri had spun out ahead of him.
“We want to share that Daniel Ricciardo has been transferred to the local hospital for further examinations after his collision during the practice in the Netherlands,” the FIA shared.
Daniel returned to Formula 1 in the place of Nyck De Vries at AlphaTauri just 14 days before the mid-summer break.
Ricciardo raced again after the Hungarian Grand Prix back in July.
When AlphaTauri asked Daniel over the radio if he was OK after the crash, the driver answered: “F—, my hand, f—.”
He also shared he had not seen McLaren’s car until the last second.
If he cannot race, Red Bull reserve driver Liam Lawson could make his debut in Formula One.
