Daniel Ricciardo drove a Formula 1 car again as he was behind the wheel of Red Bull in a tire test at Silverstone, and he ended up replacing de Vries as he will race in the next event from the Formula One calendar.

The pilot has spent this past campaign as a substitute pilot for Red Bull; through many people’s talks lately, he could take the place of Nyck de Vries at AlphaTauri, and that’s exactly what happened.
Nyck, in his 1st season in Formula 1, had many problems this campaign, as he is in the last place in the standings without winning a point together with Logan Sargeant of Williams. His teammate, Yuki Tsunoda, won only 2 points this campaign, finishing 19th in Austria and 16th at Silverstone in the last 2 weekends.
de Vries’s best result this season was in Monaco in May, when he ended up 12th, but he was in the 17th or a worse place in each of the last 3 races from the F1 calendar.
