The Brazil international was an unused substitute in Tottenham’s 4-1 loss at their stadium against Chelsea on Monday and shared after the match that he is having problems with his fitness.
“The past few months haven’t been great for me,” Richarlison claimed in an interview.
“I’ve had health problems. I’ve already discussed it with the medical staff, and soon, I will have surgery on my pubis.
“I’ve been suffering, fighting for Brazil and Tottenham for 8 months, and haven’t been taking care of my health.
“Now I must rest, to stop for a little. I’ll think about it in the next several days, and soon, I will do what will have the most positive effect on my future.”
The forward was not called by Brazil manager Fernando Diniz for November’s qualifiers vs. Colombia and Argentina. Richarlison admitted he understands Diniz’s decision, and he wishes all the best for his nation in the upcoming matches.
