Cristiano Ronaldo was not part of the group for Al Nassr’s game with Al Riyadh today.
The Portuguese superstar is unhappy with PIF’s (Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund) lack of new signings at the team compared to other teams owned by the fund.
Cristiano, who has now netted 91 goals in 95 games in the league in Saudi Arabia since he inked for the Riyadh-based team 3 years ago, is claimed to be very disappointed that his club failed to add major new players during the winter transfer window in their push for winning the league.
It comes as Al Hilal, Al Nassr’s biggest competitor for the title, who now is in the 1st place, are very close to inking Real Madrid legend Karim Benzema from Al Ittihad.
The Portuguese forward does not have an injury, nor is he sick or out of favor with head coach Jorge Jesus. Cristiano decided not to play at least today after his dispute with PIF.
The only player that Al Nassr inked last month was Iraq under-23 midfielder Haydeer Abdulkareem, who is yet to play for the team.
