She denied the rumors of a fight at the White House for Independence Day next summer

Ronda Rousey sparked excitement among fight fans with her latest comments about a potential return to MMA.

The former UFC champion, who retired in 2017 after suffering back-to-back knockout defeats to Holly Holm and Amanda Nunes, was just 29 years old when she stepped away from the octagon. At the time, many believed her retirement was temporary, but Rousey later revealed that a medical issue had forced her to call it quits earlier than she expected.

Since then, speculation about a comeback has flared up ahead of almost every major UFC event. Even UFC president Dana White was compelled to shut down rumors linking her to the promotion’s landmark UFC 300 card in April 2024.

Now Rousey has made headlines again after addressing the possibility of fighting at the UFC’s special Independence Day event at the White House next summer.

“I am not fighting at the White House,” Rousey said on The Lapsed Fan podcast. “After Mike Tyson being the biggest fight of the year, you never say never. But I ain’t fighting at the f—ing White House. Even if offered? I got better s— to do. My kid needs pasta!”
