Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim gave his press conference before the final of the Europa League against Tottenham tomorrow in Bilbao.
He was asked if this match can ‘mask’ what’s happened over the past few months or ‘give them a new future’: “I don’t think that I need a need future but without a doubt it will help us finish the campaign positively and the fans will look at the team in a different way because triumphing with a European trophy is not something you can do everyday.”
Amorim also talked about whether the team failed to win and didn’t qualify for the Champions League, it would be a huge problem for Manchester United: “I work right now in a massive team, one of the biggest in the world, that has revenues without being part of the UCL. In my former team, Sporting Lisbon, if we miss the Champions League, it will mean collapse, but that’s not the case here.
Ruben added that the best way to prepare for something is to compete; that’s why he used some of his best players against West Ham.
"If you win Europa League at Manchester United, i'm sorry but it's not a big thing. You need to go for Premier League and #UCL." 👀
