World No. 6 Andrey Rublev is the first semi-finalist at the Monte Carlo Masters after winning 6-1, 7-6(5) against qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff in 1 hour and 39 minutes.
The fifth seed in the tournament did not experience any difficulties in the first set, although he allowed a break in the first service game. Rublev responded with a rebreak. Two more breaks followed on the account of the Russian and after 6 consecutive games he closed the part at 6:1.

The second half started evenly with the two taking their first three serves. Rublev broke to 0 in the seventh game for 4:3, but the German answered with a break in turn. Two more service games followed, which lead the play to 6:6 and a tiebreak. There Andrey Rublev showed stronger nerves and won it, thus reaching the victory and semi-final.
