The Russian triumphed with the Masters 1000 title in Madrid.

Andrey Rublev, world number 8, won against world number 35, Felix Auger-Aliassime, 2-1 sets and won the Masters 1000 trophy on clay in Madrid.

Andrey had to make a comeback to lift the trophy as his Canadian opponent won the 1st set 6-4 after converting 2 break points from 4 chances.

In the 2nd set, only 1 break was enough for Rublev to win it and tie the result as Felix was serving to make it 6-6 and force a tiebreak but that’s exactly when Andrey secured his break and won the set.

In the final set, Rublev was better and had 6 break opportunities as he converted only 1 but that was enough because Auger-Aliassime didn’t have a single break chance in the 3rd set.

To win the tournament, Rublev eliminated Carlos Alcaraz in the ¼ finals and Taylor Fritz in the ½ finals.
