The Dane, who is ranked No. 6 in the world, lost the first set but made a comeback after two tiebreaks. The Bulgarian managed to get e valuable break at the end of the first set and won it 6:3, but the next two sets went to tiebreaks and both times Rune showed cooler nerves and won them to get the game into fourth set.
Both players were neck to neck at the beginning, but Dimitrov made two double faults in the middle of the set and practically gifted his opponent a break before Rune finishing the set 6:3.
