Russia has canceled Monday’s friendly international vs. Monday’s friendly international in the capital after yesterday’s shooting rampage near Moscow, RFU shared today.
At least 115 people lost their lives after gunmen opened fire with automatic weapons in a concert hall near the Russian capital.
The country, banned from FIFA and UEFA tournaments in the past 2 years after the start of the war with Ukraine, can only compete in friendly matches and beat Serbia 4-0 two days ago at VTB Arena, and were due to face Paraguay at the same stadium at the beginning of next week.
“Because of the terrorist attack that happened in Krasnogorsk, the Russian Football Union and the Paraguayan Football Association determined to cancel a friendly game between the 2 countries in our capital,” the RFU wrote.
The Russian Football Union also postponed all games in their tournaments that were to be played in the upcoming days.
Paraguay announced the cancelation of their friendly against Russia due to the shooting at a concert hall.
