Xabi has a phenomenal campaign so far as his side can triumph in the Bundesliga, the DFB Pokal and the Europa League. That drew a huge interest from the best clubs in the world which are looking for a new boss ahead of the 2024/25 season.

The top candidates for the Spaniard are the FCB and the Reds, both ex-teams of Alonso during his football career, but Sky Germany reported that Xabi prefers to join another German side than to took over the team from Anfield.

While it is still unclear if the Spaniard will leave Leverkusen after the campaign’s end, rumors are that he would prefer to continue his managerial career in Bavaria over Liverpool if he decides to take the next step and change teams in the summer.

He has a deal with Bayer until 2026, but nobody would blame the Spaniard if he leaves after the end of the season.
