The 32-year-old impressed on his first outing with a touchdown pass

The New Orleans Saints came out on top against the Kansas City Chiefs 26-24 in a preseason exhibition game on Sunday night.

The highlight of the match was the debut of new signing Derek Carr and he didn’t disappoint, finishing with a touchdown pass.

“We were a little flat at the beginning. You can’t do that,” Chiefs coach Andy Reid said. “You come to work ready to go.”

After twice rolling away from pressure on first-down completions to tight end Juwan Johnson and running back Alvin Kamara, Carr capped the 12-play, 80-yard drive with a 4-yard pass to Keith Kirkwood as the receiver crossed the back of the end zone.

Defensive end Kyle Philips tipped the third pass from Chris Oladokun and caught the deflection on the Kansas City 22 to secure the winning kick.
