Mohamed Salah will get back to Liverpool for treatment on his hamstring problem, but only after watching his nation complete their group games at the Africa Cup of Nations finals when they face Cape Verde Islands in Abidjan, Ivory Coast today.
The Egypt Football Association announced that the forward will continue to heal at his side, as the Reds’ head coach, Jurgen Klopp, had suggested yesterday after Liverpool’s 4-0 victory against Bournemouth in the league.
EFA, however, still believes its superstar player could play a role at the championship.
“We are hoping for him to be available in the ½ finals of the Africa Nations Cup in case we advance to that tournament stage,” the Egypt Football Association shared.
Salah sustained his problem vs. Ghana on Thursday, and no timetable has been given for when he will be able to play again.
🗣️ “It makes sense he does the rehab with us.”
