The Boston Celtics appoints Sam Cassell as an assistant manager to help the head coach – Joe Mazzulla.
Boston president Brad Stevens shared a few days ago after the franchise was eliminated by Miami Heat in the East Conference finals, that despite the defeat, the head coach will keep his job. Still, they will hire a veteran assistant to help him.
The Celtics needed an associate head coach to be a senior advisor to Joe Mazzulla and act as a top deputy.
Sam Cassell is the perfect person to fulfill that role, @JaredWeissNBA writes.https://t.co/NQvsGI9TiB pic.twitter.com/p80xap5ZEy

Damon Stoudamire left to be the new Georgia Tech manager a few months ago, and Sam will take his place. In addition, more assistant coaches are expected to leave the Celtics and go to work with the ex-Boston head coach Ime Udoka, who now leads Houston Rockets.
