Cory Sandhagen won with a split decision against Marlon Vera.

Cory Sandhagen will be the leading bantamweight contender after winning against Marlon Vera in the main event at UFC on ESPN.

Cory, who has a 16-4 MMA record and a 9-3 UFC record, won his second UFC match since his defeat on UFC 267 at Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, on October 30, 2021, against Petr Yan after unanimous decision. The fight was for the Interim UFC Bantamweight Championship.

After that, he beat Song Yadong after TKO in September last year, and now Marlon Vera in San Antonio, Texas, USA, after a split decision which was unanimous decision from what most MMA experts say.
